SeedWorks Conducts POSH Awareness Sessions at Jaipur and Aurangabad

SeedWorks strongly believes in cultivating a safe, healthy, and positive work environment that fosters respect and equality among all employees. As part of creating awareness on the importance of The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (commonly known as the POSH Act), SeedWorks conducted awareness sessions at its research locations, Jaipur and Aurangabad which was facilitated by Ms. Madhavi Ganti, POSH Consultant & External member – IC, SeedWorks under the guidance of Ms. Smita Jayadevan, Chairperson, IC SeedWorks as well as regional research leads, Dr. Narendra Patil (Aurangabad) & Mr. BS Yadav (Jaipur).

The training covered crucial topics such as understanding the POSH policy and its significance, awareness about sexual harassment and its various forms, strategies for preventing and protecting women against sexual harassment in the workplace, the role and function of the Internal Committee (IC), procedures for raising a sexual harassment complaint and differentiating behaviors that do not constitute sexual harassment. A total of 67 staff participants (a labor contractor, 6 full-time employees, 11 field technicians, 2 drivers and 47 contractual workers) at Aurangabad and 28 participants (14 Female workers, 5 full-time employees, 2 research assistants, 1 research Intern, 2 security guards, 2 drivers and 2 male workers) actively took part in the POSH awareness sessions. Through these sessions, we at SeedWorks aspire to foster a culture of respect and accountability as well as collectively create a safer and more inclusive work environment for everyone.
